Real food grocery costs are no joke. Have you seen my latest series detailing my attempt to feed my family a real food diet on just $600 per month? It wasn’t pretty. Although, my family can’t subsist long term on a budget that tight, I am able to save quite on a bit on many of favorite real food pantry items through Amazon’s Subscribe and Save. Combined with Amazon Prime, it definitely helps me to keep my food costs down for those things that tend to cost a fortune at the health food store.
Here are the items that I regularly purchase via Amazon’s Subscribe and Save:
At $22.75 for four packages with Amazon Subscribe and Save, I pay $5.68 per package instead of the $10.99 per package that it costs at the store.
My favorite unrefined, granulated sweetener costs $6.99 per package at the grocery store. With Amazon Subscribe and Save I get 6 packages for $21.24 or $3.54 per package!
Coombs Family Farms 100% Pure Organic Maple Syrup, Grade B, 32-Ounce
My favorite Grade B Maple Syrup from the grocery store is $23.99. My favorite Grade B Maple Syrup on Amazon is only $21.24 with Subscribe and Save.
Lara Bars are about $1.69 on sale at the health food store. With Amazon Subscribe and Save, they are just over a $1 per bar.
Bob’s Red Mill Organic Steel Cut Oats, 4 – 24-Ounce bags
Steel cut oats are $3.99 per package at the store and $2.81 with Subscribe and Save.
Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Sugar, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 12)
I need organic sugar on hand for making kombucha. I go through about 4-5 packages per month. Even the bulk organic sugar costs 3.49 per pound. With Subscribe and Save I pay $2.45 per pound!
My favorite organic tea for making kombucha and iced tea is Newman’s Own. With Subscribe and Save I pay less for 100 bags than I do at the health food store for 45!
NOW Foods Organic Cocoa Powder Pure, 12 Ounce Can (Pack of 4)
Now, I don’t know for sure how much money this one saves me, but I know that I go through a lot of cocoa powder and I can’t find organic cocoa powder at the store very often. It’s worth it to keep a good stock of this on hand!
I use a lot of spices and seasonings in my cooking. Have you priced organic garlic powder and other seasonings lately? They are outrageously priced at about $4.99 for approximately 2 ounces at the store. Using Amazon Subscribe and Save really keeps money in my pocket in this case!
