Homemade Anti-Aging Moisturizer
Several years ago I began to notice fine lines appearing around my eyes and between my eyebrows from years of “thoughtful expression”. At the time I had no idea that making a homemade anti-aging moisturizer was even possible so I tried several store-bought anti-aging creams and serums. Unfortunately, many of the store-bought creams contain ingredients that irritate my sensitive skin.
When I began using essential oils, I knew there had to be one that worked well for reducing wrinkles. Of course, frankincense is a wonderful oil for skin care products, but it is fairly expensive and sometimes out of stock. I kept searching until I came across Elemi essential oil.
Elemi essential oil is extracted from the resin of the Elemi tree, which is native to the Philippines. It has a pine-like scent and is light yellow in color. Elemi has many benefits in addition to skin care. It can also be used to boost one’s mood.
Homemade Anti-Aging Moisturizer Recipe
In order to use Elemi for the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, try this recipe at home:
2 tablespoon of olive oil
15 drops of Elemi oil (where to find pure Elemi oil)
Place 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a glass container. Place 15 drops of Elemi oil in the glass container. Put the lid on the container and shake gently to combine.
I use this moisturizer a few times per week and have seen an improvement in the reduction of wrinkles around my eyes and between my brows. In addition, my skin simply glows after application.
Important note: It is absolutely vital that you use pure Elemi essential oil and not Elemi oil that has been pre-diluted or mixed with other substances. Pure Elemi should not irritate your skin, especially after you’ve diluted it in olive oil.
