The Best Vacuum for Moms
I’ve been on a search for the perfect vacuum cleaner since my oldest was a baby. It’s been 14 years, folks. Vacuums have come a long way since then and I am happy to say that I’ve found a vacuum cleaner that’s great for moms.
We moms have certain needs when it comes to a vacuum cleaner. It needs to be light enough to carry up and down stairs, it needs a cord that doesn’t get in the way but that doesn’t have to be re-plugged in every single room, it needs to clean multiple floor surfaces and it’s got be powerful enough to get all of the dirt that our darling children and pets track into our homes.
I’ve used vacuum cleaners that fit one or some of these requirements, but never one that fit them all. Recently, I got the chance to try the new Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum and not only does it fit all of the requirements that I have for being the best vacuum for moms, but it surpasses my standards with a couple of awesome surprise features! Read on for the low-down on this great vacuum cleaner.
The Best Vacuum Cleaner for Moms Needs to be Lightweight
If you’ve never had to drag a heavy vacuum up the stairs or from room to room, then count yourself blessed. I’ve wrestled my share of powerful, but heavy vacuum cleaners and it’s a nightmare. The Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum is lightweight and easy to lift and maneuver.
The best part about the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum being less than seven pounds is that my children can use it like pros. They can zip around with this lightweight vacuum and keep the floors of their rooms spic and span.
I’ve even considered getting this vacuum for my mother, who has back problems and can no longer use her heavy vacuum cleaner with any regularity. The Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum is a must-have vacuum for moms who need a lightweight option that will get the job done.
The Best Vacuum Cleaner for Moms Needs a Cord that Doesn’t Get in the Way (Or No Cord at All!)
Of course you realize by the name that Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum is . . . well . . . cordless. No cord means you have freedom to vacuum every room in your home with ease. There’s no plugging and unplugging, no winding and rewinding and most importantly, no tripping, tugging or tangling.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. I was pretty cautious myself about falling in love with a cordless vacuum cleaner. My past experience with cordless vacs includes being three-quarters of the way through vacuuming my car and having the vacuum quit because the battery ran out.
I want to put your mind at ease. The Hoover Cordless line uses LithiumLife batteries, which have double the capacity of the standard 18-volt lithium Ion batteries. That means longer run time and fade-free power!
While I can’t say exactly how long the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum runs on a full charge, I was able to vacuum about 1000 square ft, plus my car on about 50% charge and the battery did not run all the way out. With a full charge, you’d have no problem vacuuming your whole house and certainly no trouble vacuuming your entire vehicle.
The Hoover Cordless line has multiple products (4 cordless cleaners—3 vacuums and a hard floor wet cleaner) with an interchangeable battery provide versatility to tackle a variety of messes with just the right tool for the job, whether it’s the whole house or picking up a quick mess. Only the Hoover cordless line is powered by an interchangeable battery system that works with all products in the Hoover cordless line.
Another bonus, is that the battery can be left on the charger even after it’s been fully charged so that it’s ready to go when you need it.
The Best Vacuum Cleaner for Moms Needs to Clean Multiple Floor Surfaces
The Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum meets this requirement easily. It vacuums both carpet and hard floor surfaces and transitions easily between each with the press of a switch. I’ve tested the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum on hard wood, vinyl, tile and carpet with great results on each.
Here’s another great bonus about the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum: It’s also a handheld vacuum cleaner! You may have wondered why I was vacuuming my car with a vacuum cleaner meant for floors, but the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum is more than just a multi-floor-surface vacuum.
The handheld vacuum snaps into the body of the vacuum and is actually the part of the vacuum that contains the dust cup. Even so, it’s lightweight and perfect for cleaning out the car after three boys track grass and dirt from the soccer field into your vehicle!
The Best Vacuum Cleaner for Moms Needs to be Powerful
So far it seems like the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum has everything. It’s lightweight. It eliminates the need to drag the cord around the house stopping to replug in every room. It not only handles all floor surfaces, but is also an easily portable handheld vacuum. But does it clean?
My tests on various surfaces left me wonderfully pleased with the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum. It picked up grass and dirt; pet hair; twisty ties; a nickel; a hibiscus leaf; and a couple of rubber bands. (Yes, my floors are quite an adventure with three boys and two cats in the house.)
Other Features of the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum
- It is small enough to store easily in a small closet.
- It ‘drives’ itself, making vacuuming effortless.
- The attachments store on the vacuum itself so there are no loose parts to keep up with.
- It uses Windtunnel 3 technology for performance and suction power to lift and remove dirt.
- The dust cup is simple to release and empty.
- The handheld vacuum is easy to release and reattach.
- It has a swivel head, which makes corners and edges very easy to clean.
Because it’s so lightweight and convenient to use I will be using the Hoover Air Cordless 2-In-1 Vacuum daily on my kitchen floor instead of sweeping. I’m much more motivated to vacuum my car, as well, since I can avoid dragging out the heavy extension cord to plug in my heavy vacuum and attach the right tools.
