Vegetarian Thanksgiving Recipes
Although I am no longer a vegan or vegetarian, I certainly remember how it felt to participate in meat-centered holiday meals with friends and family when I didn’t eat meat. When the standard Thanksgiving centerpiece dish is a turkey, planning a vegetarian Thanksgiving menu can be tough.
With the advent of meat substitutions and dishes such as Tofurky that are most certainly not part of a real food diet, it’s difficult to re-imagine Thanksgiving as a meatless feast. Instead of trying to replace turkey with fake meat products, it’s best to focus on the delicious dishes that are already meat-free. You’ll quickly forget that turkey even has a place in your Thanksgiving dinner as you incorporate traditional side dishes as the main course and introduce new dishes that will become a part of your family’s Thanksgiving tradition for decades to come!
It’s not impossible to have a real food vegetarian Thanksgiving if you plan ahead. In the end, a meatless Thanksgiving looks more like a collection of typical Thanksgiving side dishes. There is no single main dish like there is with a turkey, but there is no shortage of delicious, filling dishes to make your Thanksgiving tasty and comforting.
