Soaked Wheat Tortillas Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of flour
  • 4 Tbs of whey or apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, etc
  • 2 Tbs of melted butter How to make homemade butter
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of filtered water
  •  

Instructions

  • Combine the whey, melted butter, water and and flour in a large glass mixing bowl.
  • Use your hands to form it into a ball.  The dough will be stiff.
  • Cover it with a flour sack towel and leave it on the counter for 12-24 hours.
  • After soaking the flour for 12-24 hours, knead in the salt.
  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  • Break into small balls and roll or press into tortillas.
  • Heat for for a couple of minutes per side on medium heat on a griddle or frying pan.
